Sure maybe "easy" wasn't a good choice of words but it's not exactly easy to gather all the parts and do a complete rebuild of the 02', especially if you're not a mechanic.
In the end, I believe Brucifer will be far better off with the 08' than rebuilding an 02' motor with the Delorto carb and being stuck with an SEM ignition. Why would you even consider dumping $$$ into the 02', when you can have a low mile 08' for the same investment or less? Sure, he'll have to make a bracket for the black box, but it ain't rocket science!
(Don't tell him I would've sold him my 05' FE550 with 172 hours for $2,000.00) 8)

Your reasons are exactly why I went with the '08 engine.

Oh sure, NOW you tell me about your bike!
I've got roughly $2400.00 tied up in in this project so far. Ah well, it doesn't really matter. I don't plan on ever selling this one.

Hey, I didn't know my bike was for sale til I wrote that! :?
Sounds like you've done okay so far with what you've spent.

Just got her running! Didn't get a battery yet so it was a kick start affair. One kick! One friggin' kick and it lit off.
I pumped the accelerator about 5 times, kicked it through a few times slowly, then one good boot and it roared to life. Awesome.

Quick!!! Sell it!!

Yeah, thanks berger. :D

log- I zip-tied the CDI to that cross brace on the rear plastic just under the seat. I'm going to add a piece of aluminum strap to strengthen it. Should be fine. Still have to build a bracket for the coil. Just to get it running, I bolted one end of the coil to the hole where the stock ground tree was. I'll use that hole and the two old coil mount holes to secure the fabricated bracket to.

For anyone who may be interested here is a pick or two of the mongrel with new plastics. :)

Still have to install a battery, build the coil bracket and order a late model rocker cover breather.
Just like any Husaberg, the thing rips and is a ton of fun.

Are my pictures to big for the site? Is that why they are getting cut off on the right side? :x
