could be enough meat in the crown to get a dish in pic is truncated, pic is attached as well

plenty of rings and a 20mm pin, there are some ducatti pistons that might work but they are over 400gms

in case you didn't know, the wider apart the inlets are the better the gas flow and that's why all this is happening. it's the first new thing I've learnt in 20 years - other than the fact that I had no idea that they would be sooooo oversquare nowadays!

so If I was Dr C i'd be very interested in this set up and the second head i went to make. why not just fit the RC8 head as well?

anyway, this piston is no good because the valve pocket cutaways are too far apart for your husaberg.

Taffy

the price is right cypher.

Taffy aside from the shape the price on the RC8 piston is mad

havent confirmed but pretty sure anyone can get a batch of 10 pistons made up for around $2500 US from JE or CP just need to decide what size.. for saleability I reckon 102 is the shisizzle, 105 is lots of bother for DIY guys.

I agree 102mm would allow the original liner to be bored out.
What about JBS`s 102mm piston?

Cheers spanner

it should be great, the JBS 105mm is a very nice piston

I just like looking at pictures 8)

Yes if I was to ever get a big bike I would be considering an RC8 as
my first choice.
Just wondering why you would get 10 pistons made when there
is already ones available.

Cheers spanner

@Spanner, just illustrating how expensive the KTM piston is, if you can get 10 custom pistons made up in 103 or 104mm for a similar price to 3 pistons that are the wrong shape it would make sense to get 10 made then keep 4 or so and try tosell the rest.

Gokai yes the CP custom or JE custom is a great idea

Taffy yes the complete RC-8 top end would be great  I beleive I dribbled that out in an email a few months back , big valves high flow downdraft, DOHC efi and allready sorted for an available piston at 103mm bore. very expensive though $800 us for just the bare cylinder head.

cool!

do you want the rear one or the front one? rear one is good for a setup like the new yam 450

No I don`t won`t to drill holes through the radiator for the carb 8O . cause overheating.
What I would really like is two separate inlet ports with their own throttle bodies
with staged opening

wicked idea  there are some raptor 700 heads with that config but most are 5 valve, there are some 4 valve ones.

some more engine ****

wow 8O all that power for that small of a crank.
its a wonder that crankpin doesn't rip straight out of that side of the crank!
there aint much of it left.they ground half of it away on that side.
it would be a game of trial & error to how much metal they could remove from around the crankpin area before it fails.
i bet they would have had a few porky pine before they got the right mix. :D
bell cranks have to be the way to go,so much lighter,if you need more flywheel weight just add it to the flywheel.
..weed..
