'09 Subframe fuel tank ??

Hi guys

Is by chance someone can drop few pics of the DIY pumbling fuel system
I'm trying again (first time was just working too good, petrol was fowing non stop throug the vent gas hose).
But this time, i will try to insert a spare fuel pump in it ready to plug, (just in case)
I can't see the Sabink pics anymore???
Thank and merry Xmas

Hi mate, ill try and help youbest i can.

Modding the subframe is pretty well straight forward.

Same really modding the pump housing.

Use the template from Safari tanks to know where to drill in the pump housing. I made an aluminium plate to bolt over the pump housing. In this aluminium plate, i fitted a threaded right angle barb. I bought a female threaded fitting then cut off a thin section so i had a thin nut. Right angle barb on the outside with the thin nut on the inside so it doesnt foul against the pump housing. Use a bit of fuel resident sealer. For the aluminium plate, some gasket paper will work. You may need longer screws here. Be careful not to over tighten. Making the plate for over the pump housing has worked flawlessly over the last couple of years.

Now, as far as the vent tube, run a length of tube up to join the main tank breather. Use a triple barb to join the main tank breather. Run the breather higher on your handlebars. If fuel still spills, remove the ball from the main fuel cap. Also i drill a hole and fit a self tapper at the rear most part of the subframe as this allows the tank to fill quickly as the vent tube fills with fuel it slows it up quite a bit.

Anything else you require, just ask. Ill try and get you some pics.

this is something that I'd like to do too, and would appreciate pictures. I'd buy the 70 degree tank if it was still available, but they seem impossible to find.
