I dont think that the sky is falling over this DNF. There isnt anything revolutionary about the Berg clutch for 09. I dont think that it is something that couldnt have happened on any other bike.

same clutch as a 530 etc ?
It is safe to presume so, it just makes good sense to make once clutch and share it on all the big bikes.

In all actuality, most all of the bike is standard issie parts and could be easily tested on "mules". The only real differences that I see are setting up EFI for use on the trail (as opposed to dyno) and ensuring that the elevated clutch and crank get oil. We are finding that as much as we love the EFI on our snowmobiles, they do have temperature and elevation combinations that are not perfectly calibrated. This may be a challenge for dirt bikes, since they don't have a mush box transmission like sleds (and most cars) to make up for the jetting. It is worth note that the RMZ450 is not on the market yet, BUT Hbg has had various versions of EFI at the Sweden R&D shop for many years. Now where is my 2009?!?!? :)

Husaberg started using the big KTM clutch in 03 so this shouldnt be an alarming failure, but with all the aftermarker slipper and auto clutches around, have to wonder if his clutch was actually OEM anyway.

I too have suspected that he is using a slipper clutch to make the bike corner more like a 2T, especially in tight going and to reduce dive when cornering in sand. Chances are Juha was using a slipper in Chile when he had his failure.
