09' FE 450 Thermostat Eliminator?

i put some hard sponge ruber between the core and the thermostat but then it rubs on the fuel tank i hope husaberg comes up with a better solution little problems can turn into big problems negy1

I made a bracket that goes between the thermostat and the radiator. The radiator has a lip around the outside that gives maybe 1/8" clearance between the fins and the bracket. Just make the bracket long enough to make contact with the lip on both sides of the radiator, secure it in place and you're golden. It took maybe 30 minutes to make and has held up to pretty heavy MX style use.

I have the 2009 FE570 & mentioned the thermostat was jammed into the rad core before I took the bike out of the show room, dealer wouldn't do anything about it. Now after about 5 rides it's fully rubbing on the core tubes so I took it back and they tied it back with zip ties.

I'm very happy with the bike but seems there are a few factory issues perhaps due to first year model, my issues;

Thermostat rubbing
Right side engine case case had to be removed and re-sealed
The chain was adjusted to its maxed out position, could not be adjusted from new, links had to be removed.

Like I said bike runs great, doesn't over heat, starts immediately and is a blast ride!

Feed back I'm getting from the dealer is that Husaberg doesn't cover these items?

Is anyone hearing this?

Maybe you should get with Dale and sell them? I noticed the big dent and wear pattern on my radiator. Did you make the cooler piece, or buy it somewhere?

hi, guys i'm kfx440 but i had to re-register a diferrent user name cos' i had problems with login after installing win7?
anyways i made the eliminator myself and it only took about 30mins on the lathe...

i've noticed a company called "KITE" make similar versions that should fit.

Or you could buy the FX 450 hose and block off the thermostat port on the radiator?

I know this is an old thread but I just picked up an 09 FE570 last fall and noticed the same issue. A friend of mine suggested twisting/rotating the various coolant hoses so that the side of the thermostat was facing the back of the radiator instead of the part of the thermostat with the screw in it, giving it more clearance. I attached a pic but we used a set of spark plug boot pliers and good adjustable pliers (Knipex in this case), loosened what clamps we could, then gently turned everything.

I was about to use some hi-temp padding and contact cement as a pad but don't think I need it now hopefully!

It truly is a baffling design IMHO.
