From Jocke_D pic the top view, its obvious the tank is not slim-line. They went through all that work to keep the same old fat tank. The radiator guards were moved upward to be above where the knees rub. Will your pants/knee braces will hang-up on the radiators guards? The oil inlet spout is angled, good! They must of gotten a good deal on black paint from KTM's vender purchase. The added yellow stripe is like...? The fuel taps look like a screw type similar to that of the KTM mini 50's. Grabbing the Choke or Hot Start knob is still a tight problem.

is that an easy-to-read speedo or what!

the keyhole is clearly a tilt at some of the overheating problems they are having! i would think that the SM and FE need it but everyone gets it!

i can tell you that with a tall seat the tank IS narrow and if they've slightly curved the tank over the top-well then it will help.

seems to me-if we stand back and think about it-there is no way without a shake-up that husaberg can narrow the rad and so why narrow the tank?

regards

Taffy

Thats the corner that i believe that you can cut with with the sharp cutter and transfor that area from a peephole to something more similart to a a triangle with a rounded corner...doing so, it will increase even further the airflow...

You are right, theres two air vents but i doubt that the airflow its enough to get really hot...

I think the shrouds might give a problem in case you get stuck behind them. Since they have a funny corner below the hole pointing backwards.
And if I see it correct on the pictures taken from above, there seem to be two vent areas (L=R)between the tank and shrouds here also. So one could get a bit warm during those cold enduro's?? Or just a bit warmer when riding on an MX track on a hot summerday?? Or maybe I am thinking too much ahead now??

Since we are doing photo editing. Here's my FC version of easy access to the head, spark plug, valves.

on colours, i think the black/red looks good, but come on, this is a berg!!!

i thought the 2004's looked good from day 1. the 2005's had to grow on me but i like em now.

i think that 2006 is ugly. the black just doesn't fit. maybe it'll grow on me too!!

can anyone confirm when the new motor is due???

i hope the big hole in the tank/shrouds doesn't snag your pants.

Have Fun
Jeff

550, nice job on that one, looks good. Only thing I would change if I were picky would be to add a yellow diamond to the front of the fender. But on the 06; personally, I could care less about looks as long as it is made by Husaberg. I do like the yellow blue combo, like said earlier, it holds up well to scratches like when trees jump in front of you and bounce off your tank.

Found more info just now:

Anybody else having difficulty in gaining access onto the new models on the official Husaberg site?? Seems to have been removed

p.s. where did you get your info from Jocke-D?

So maybe a new engine will be introduced for KTM as well as Husaberg in 07, this since there are no changes for 06

I'll bet they will use the same motor.
If the new dark blue tank will fit the
older bergs it should be a hot seller.

.

As in "same motor for both companies" or "same motor than in '06 " ?

...and if same motor for both brands, will it be only for FCs or also for FE ? possibly only for FC and one-two years later also for FE ?

I also didnt found the pics,etc. :(

Should KTM bring out a new engine, I think this will be mounted in Husaberg also. I can't imagine that it could be profitable to develop two different engines for KTM and Husaberg. However from what was written in the press and told by KTM reps, Husaberg was going to be the testground for KTM. So wouldn't it have to be that Husaberg gets the new engine sooner? Not that I am waiting for one though, during the weekend I rode my 470 and thought what a fine bike it actually is. But I did need some time to get used to it again as I have only ridden my air-cooled Maico's lately.

Radiator:
Preparation installed for mounting a cooling fan for improving the air flow in special conditions (cooling fan to come as new Force Depot part)

OOOOOHHH YEEEAAAAHHH !!!
Finally,to compliment the '05 introduced thermostat, the part needed to increase even further the reability !
I knew that the new fuel tank design seemed suspecious ;)

Colours:
New colour dark blue for all seats and the FS model gasoline tank, black colour for the frame

I didnt notice that the seat was dark blue...it seemed black...
No black plastics ?!? (maybe they will still make an alternative black plastics kit ?!? hope so !)
bummer...if thats true, i prefer the yellow stock fuel tank...unless that replace all plastics by blue, then it may be nice to have a dark blue fuel tank.

In any of the two cases i can see some bling options:
Stock Yellow/Blue plastics with Protaper golden handlebar, blue alu fuel tank cap, blue Talon hubs and golden rims...

All plastics in blue, protaper golden handlebar, golden talon wheels.

I actually liked the blue frames.A
red bike should have a red frame.
Every cheap bike has a black frame.
Chrome it ,anodize it, but black paint?
I will admit,the two times I that I rode
my 470 up north that it didn't let me
down were a couple of my best rides
in years.

The best looking Berg was undoubtedly the 00. Look at the way the Husaberg over the shrouds and onto the seat. Marvellous! :)

This with a blue rear fender... I wonder why I sold the old bike!

Fun wasn't it

BTW where the heck did you get that avatar lol

I may be biased but I think both the fe and fs are beautiful. I am more impressed with the details and refinement of a bike that was already insanely fast and a hoot to ride. My 01 fx 650 is really fast. I will be beeming and proudly displaying my 06 fe 650 when it arrives this fall. I can hardly wait. I think there is alot of room to personalize a berg now. You can go with black plastic or dark blue tank or yellow or possibly old blue or any combo you want but I sure wish aftermarket would help us out with big tanks and more color options.
