i am ashamed to admit my 02 470 only has about 100 hrs est.....and believe it or not it's never been apart and it still starts and runs good.

when i bought it i also got updated rocker arms and an updated dual bearing counter balancer. however I never installed them. anyway i am going to at least take the head off and update it for reliability. i may also replace the counter balancer with the dual row one that i have.

mine appears to be a late 02......is there any way to tell whether it may already have a dual bearing balancer? and....what updates/mods should i do to the head?.....

if i keep my radical cam and use dual valve springs, will it likely survive?

any advise is appreciated

Hi

Once I've tried to established when the have changed the for double bearings with the engine serial number, but I haven't come to a conclusion. Want's your engine number ?

I've rebuild one engine like yours with dual valves springs, but I've changed the cam to a FE softer cam, and it still run very good, just had to change the timing of the cam a little bit, but my guess is that, if your not a rev maniac, they can hold :D
