hy,
which harware and soft do you use to map this ecu?

is better change with an ecu ktm model ?

thanks

Hey mate, you need to use the user setting tool sold by ktm, and the software for that is available at husaberg.com. This system is very limited in the Adjustments you can make with fuelling, and none at all with the spark curve.
And option for hard core tuning is the vortex ecu.

I have also heard about this one, the Bazzaz piggyback controller - only fuel, no spark adjustment: http://www.bazzaz.net/index.php/husaberg/fe570-09-11

There was some discussion about the Bazzaz controller at ADVRider, I'm not sure but I think Lost Rider lent his bike to Bazzaz to develop the unit: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost ... count=2811

One interesting thing about the Bazzaz box is that there is an auto-tuner available: http://www.bazzaz.net/index.php/ems-acc ... uel-mapper

Then JD Jetting also make a simple box that is tuned with screw knobs: https://www.jdjetting.com/xcart/product ... =21&page=1 ... it is a much broader brush, but I hear it works well. It's been discussed a little bit here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=15664 and viewtopic.php?f=7&t=15558 and viewtopic.php?f=1&t=18098

I am probably going to go with a fully adjustable ECU myself, but only for max educational value.

I sent my ECU to Fritz at Gunnison Motorsports for the reprogram. $100 (for the reprogram) and a FMF 4.1 later WOW!

Hi guys, tillbuilts sick, deranged, turbo snow bike inspired me to look at the power commander v. It would appear outwardly that a 2012 ktm 690 SM shares the same efi hardware. Another option on a reply sophisticated looking interceptor style system.

hy to all.

berglsmerg i saw now the votex, seem good.

means the fs 570 is compatible with that? cause there some ecu program software around in case..!

fs 570 hasn't an usb port on it.. don't seem to remember..

The user setting tool makes the interface between the ecu and computer, if you want to use the KTM/Husa system. I would be interested to see options on programming

but..how to program the orignal ecu? whcih interface they use?
thanks

Hi, the interface between the XC1 computer and the ktm ecu's is called CAN bus. The connector is a 4 pin connector, but as far as I remember it has only 2 wires. This interface is the same for all ktm/Husaberg FI bikes.

The can bus is then connected to a 'breakout box' which is connected to the computer via USB.

I'm not sure if anyone has tried to make their own 'hacked' breakout box, but I suppose you will need the original breakout box to reverse engineer.

...maybe some electronic engineer types could help with that...?

But as far as I know its not possible to modify the existing fuel/ignition maps, from XC1, except for loading new maps. (None that I could find, atleast)
Only modifying of existing maps I know of, is done with the KTM user setting tool.

hy,
thanks for the reply.
don't understand what is the xc1..

and..the tuneecu software +cable isnt usefull for us ?

TuneECU_Start

*******

No, TuneECU is only compatible with the models, which are listed on our website.

The XC1 is ktms diagnostic tool and interface that allows complete control over the ECU.

For mere mortals ( by mortals I mean guys who don't have tons of money to drop on a XC1) like us we only have access to the KTM user setting tool, which is also an interface to the ECU but only allows fuel correction.

The connection is via a 6 pin plug. It is CAN BUS. This is a cut and paste from tuneecu.com I've put it up here purely to demonstrate the pinouts.

The breakout box connects to the ECU harness and is for conveniently testing the wiring and sensors without having to go through the process of deciphering pin outs and wire colours.

Tune boy ( aussie ) was working on the Berg ECU a few years ago but as I understand it the language of the ECU was very complicated and he was unable to "crack the code".

If you're still lurking here Davo we could use your help please mate.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but can someone please tell me what the competition map is called for the FS570?

I have asked my dealership mechanic and spoken to one of the importers and they both tell me that the only alternative map available is the Enduro map which he says would most probably have been installed when they removed the anti-pollution gear off the bike pre-sale. When i asked them about a "competition map" they both looked at me blankly. They also told me there is no way to check what map is currently loaded in the ECU and that they can only re-flash it with the current map they have available to them and hope for an improvement..but the process is going to cost me just under $100.

I'm desperately trying to get the bike to run smoother down low and just recently have started noticing that it will occasionally backfire if i ease off the throttle at low speeds..the only mods to this bike are a gutted standard silencer and i have set the map switch to position 2 (aggressive mode). The bike rips up top, but bottom end and mid range power seem a little flat and the bike surges under deceleration when other riders tell me their 570s run smoothly down low. :wall:

thanks berglsmerg
but we do not have the software to map the ecu of the husaberg fs/fe or ktm exc once cable is done..

only solution
remain vortex system and their kit to map it completlty.
noot so cheper.,

I have been looking at a vortex system myself yes very expensive, but cheaper than a XC1. If you're really brave a microsquirt or other system can be adapted.

hy,
you mean to develop an software by ourself?

which system do you suggest or which ecu do you use on your bike or around there?

a system that control injection and ignition i mean ,better a complete ecu system or parallel, like dynojet extra module.

bye

Hi mate, in a nutshell the options are:

a) stock ecu with User Setting tool (fuel only) I'm using this because its cheap and easy.

b) stock ecu with XC1 tool ( dealers only )

c) piggyback/parallel unit such as the dynojet/JD tuner/bazzaz (fuel only control)

d) stand alone ecu ( microsquirt etc) full control but major wiring and modification.

e) can bus interface and write your own software if you have the talent/skills/means

I'm considering the JD Tuner..i had the ECU re-flashed a few days ago and it appears i already had the unrestricted map so no there was no improvement..waste of $80 dollars.

Honestly i love this bike but i need to sort the mapping out to enjoy riding it more on the street..its far too unpredictable down low with the decel surge and random backfires which worries me because i'm not sure how good that is for the engine..possibly running lean on 3/4 throttle. A Change to a 42 rear sprocket helped smooth things out a little but i'm still not 100% happy.

The JD tuner works great I use it w/Akra map and you can smooth the bike out from the backfiring etc. I use Vortex 13-42 & 14/42 gears that's about right for street for track days a 46/48 rear depending on track is fast or tight.

Akra map? Is it possible to load maps into the jd tuner?
