Mount Waverley, VIC, Australia
After a week of cleaning it and looking at it in the garage it was great to get away on the weekend. We camped on a friends property at Bonnie Doon. Mansfield area Victoria (Australia)

Unfortunately the basis of this trip was a catch up/drinking session for most of the boys who attended but a few of us tagged along with bikes to get a ride in. We stayed local to the house so most of the riding was on property - flat paddocks and open space so excuse me for not having photos of exciting tracks this time round.

Sorry it's a small selection and not alot of interesting terrain but I just can't wait to get back out now and ride more! Husaberg = fun! I'm glad I made the choice for this bike.

Hey is that a Ute? Those are cool! I wish they sold them in the US. Would make a bitchin "El Camino." Oh yeah, enjoy the new bike.

I like the garage shot with the AC/DC posters and the "Give Way" sign. Isn't that thing supposed to say Yeild????? Thanks for the pics looks like fun was had !

How's the serenity?

Love the hills around there!

What did your mates think of your new toy or did you not want to part with it?

cheers Todd

Husky yes it's a ute. Holden (GM) SS Ute. They have the LS1 engine. couple pics here

sixfiddy: good comments from everyone, those who rode it said that's the kind of thing that kills people yet very managable. It's great views out there and all very green at the moment. I have a forest map of Mansfield and Mt Buller area where looks to be a huge amount of tracks. Can't wait to get there. I do most riding at Warburton surrounding areas. What about you?

Love those 650s and the Vic high country. Congrats.

The ute is sold in SWB form in the US, or was, as Pontiac GTO. Supposedly plans for El Camino version are in place.

First ride

G,day Nutt

Ther truly is " No replacement for displacement"
I mostly ride around the Lake Eildon area as a mate has a house there.
The Eildon to Woods Point ride is good fun @ 100k each way to the smallest servo i have ever seen.
I also ride in the Otways near Lorne. Some of the best riding in the state.
Noojee is good. They hold one of the must do rides in November. Usually around 1000- 1100 rider turn up for that one.Absolute bog hole in the wet.
Anglsea behind the power station is great if you are looking for some sandy tracks.
The Nolan rally is on the 28th May in the Rubicon valley. Heaps of fun with only 400 or so people.
The Great Divide Ride in July or August is mad. With a hill first up that goes for no less than 10 mins!!!
Tullarook is good value and only 45 min from Melbourne.Plenty of hills there.
The Talangi/Murrindindi area is more slippery than snot on a door knob.
My last ride there i snapped it open in 3rd or 4th at around 70k and it stepped out so far i strained a groin muscle throwing my leg out to catch it!
I hope the attached photo's will help.

Stay upright !

cheers Todd

RE: First ride

Great pics. I have the maps for Tolangi forest area so I plan to get some riding in there. Warburton joins up to Nooji, great riding in there it would be a big ride from one to the other. The woodspoint servo looks ace, is the fuel there adequate for our bikes? where is it? In the heart of woodspoint. I have found that area on a map but not a detailed map..

RE: First ride

Hey Nutt,
The fuel at Woodspoint servo is OK. You cant miss it, its on the main road across from the general store. They have PULP even though the bowser says super!
Get your hands on a sub tank. It holds about 3ltrs.Will let you do at least another 30ks.
Good money earner when your mates run out and you charge them bush tax of 6pack per ltr!
Best thing to do is get out there and ride. Watch out for coppers/rangers.
Make sure you have at least rec reg and a liscence and stick to the tracks.
The bushfires last year made a mess of things and we dont need to give them an excuse to close tracks.
Speak to Richie or Andrew at Valley Force in Lillydale 9735-9433 they might have a second hand tank.
Might see you out there on the tracks!

cheers Todd

RE: First ride

Richie sold me the bike at VFH. It came with a sub take but I took it off just have it as a spare part now. Longest rides are no longer than 100kms without refuel. And we can only ride for as long as the person with the smallest tank anyway. Woodspoint looks like a good area to visit. I will mention all these spots to the crew. I have full reg and license so no issue with cops, can't wait to get back out there.
