Hi Tommy,

Nice job :) does the paint dry good? Because of the chemicals used in the seat and paint they could " bite " each other.

Grtz Rens

Hi Rens!
Thank you! The paint works and dry good on the fake leather, it's an acrylic spray paint. You should spray 2 or 3 layers, waiting 20 minutes between one and the other.
I have another seat to rebuilt, this time I will make the logo using water spray paint to check which works best.
Best reg,
Tommy

Hi Tommy,

If it's possible could you show the template you use ?
It's very nice to see this seat lay out.:)

Grtz Rens

Hi Rens,
please see the template and instructions of use in the attached file.
Best reg,
Tommy

Hi Tommy,

Thanks for sharing this very useful information.

Did you make the templates yourself or where they made by a company?

If possible, could you post some pictures of your restoration?

Thanks Rens

Hi Rens,
The hardest part was take the dimensions of each letter from the old original seat to obtain the same "font" or character writing. Then a friend of mine converted the logo to a vector file. I hope the translation is correct!:D
The sticker template was made by my typographer using a software connected to an automated plotter.
The seat cover before restoration in the attached picture.
I will post more pictures asap.

Hey, was wondering if you all could explain some stuff about these pre 2000's for me. Are the pre' 2000 using the same stuff as the 2005's? Are the frames the same? Motor? I ask because their is a 1997 FE 600? "Guessing its a bored 501?" near me for sale. Looks like its gotten allot of work to it but might not have been done the best being the motor might be blown.

Heres the link HugeDomains.com - Shop for over 350,000 Premium Domains

Ideally I would want a 2005 550 or 650. But if this thing isnt a total loss and the guy is able to go down on price... "The parts used seem to be decent enough"

Let me know what you think. I have decided one berg isnt enough and want the second to be classic Berg.

Conceptually much the same as later models, but not much in specifics. Motor is a stroked 501, bored AFAIK, frame is different post 2000, geometry and bolted vs welded subframes.

Just joined, thought i would toss mine in here. Always knew about them but never owned one. Always were on my radar. Then one come up local, with a plate and big box of parts. Bought it in running shape but not very well sorted. Was crazy cheap, had a plate, always wanted one... bought it. Rode it a few times, liked it but did not start consistently and felt like an older dirtbike that it is. Felt light and the motor ripped well so thought I would give it some love. did a bunch of ergonomic stuff, now it feels right. Replaced the tank as it leaked. Got it going well and was liking it a good bit. For reference I have a pile of bikes so this is / was just another toy not my main ride. Broke down and put a Lectron carb on it as I love those and run them on all my carbed bikes. Made it start way more reliable and is even faster now. Last thing I did was install a Pulstar plug. Seems like snake oil to me but read over and over on a husky forum how it was really good. Thought what the heck and installed one. Heck if it does not start and run better. So now the thing is very dialed and has become one of my favorite bikes and I won some semi new EFI machines. I find I am pretty fast on this old beast. The motor with the carb and plug is ridiculous. One huge power band from bottom to top. Wheelie machine. I ride tighter Oregon and WA woods and was really surprised that I have no issues hanging with my ride buddies on new bikes. I ride newer bikes like I said but there is just something fun about the old guy (I'm 50 and ride with a lot of 30 somethings) on the vintage bike walking away from them. ha ha ha. Good fun.

Hey guys, just found the site, stumbled onto this forum whilst looking for a parts manual for my 1992 FE350.

I first got into Husabegs when I met a guy at the '94 International 6 Day Enduro in Tulsa, USA, we were there assisting the Australian team at the race and found out we lived about 20 mins apart back at home.

I was racing YZs converted to Enduro machines in the late 80s and early 90s and after returning from the 6 Day my new found mate offer me his 92 Husaberg to race in the 4 stroke Thumper (4 Stroke) Nationals, which I did for the next 2 years.

At the first race on the starting line I was talking with a guy who was admiring the bike saying I was one lucky bar stool to be able to throw a leg over the Husa. I was discussing how I was having a few issues out on the track as it was my first real serious time on a 4 stroke. At the time I was racing 125s and he said its very easy, ride it like the 125 and you'll be happy, and happy I was with the bike and results....

Many years later now and I decided to do a restro and started with a YZ to rebuild one of my former machines (with some modern bling) to do some Vinduro and VMX, its 90% complete now. In the background I have also been searching for a Berg of the vintage I raced, after 2 yrs I was able to lay my hands on one off eBay a couple of months ago. It will need a little bit of TLC to make it cosmetically look good again, but its mechanically sound and come with a complete 2nd set of plastics and seat.

Reunited and the journey continues....

Ahhh man, I'm sorry Rens. Prayers for you and your family my friend.
Yes, cancer sucks. I lost my uncle to it 15 years ago. He was only 50.
Losing your dad is heartbreaking. I lost my dad to a heart attack 24 years ago. He was 57. I still miss him dearly. I have faith that we will see our departed loved ones again when it's our turn.
Take care, Bro.

Hi Rens:

I an sorry to hear of your loss. God speed and God bless your dad.

Eric

The more it hurts the luckier You were to have someone like him in Your Life.
