Cylinder head detailing

I am freshening the head and rockers on my 05. In addition to lots of scrubbing with Simple Green and a red Scotch-Brite pad, a bronze wire brush on a drill really restored the exterior. It looks similar (to me) to a vapor blasted part at a fraction of the price.

A $5.00 stemmed bronze wire brush assortment from Harbor Freight Tools, drill and some time is all it took.

Beautiful!!!!
I love seeing photos like these. If mine was that pretty, it would be sitting in my living room. That's my eventual plan for my 01 FC550 ser.# 0001

So thats the secret take your engine out ..thats what i was doing wrong lol
Great job I'm gonna try to better with mine this year thanks for the tips my ole girl 550 could use a refresh

Ooooo, that looks minty fresh! Another source for high quality brass brushes is your sporting goods department in the firearms section. Bore brushes in an assortment of sizes, chuck them up in your drill and go to town.
