How many hours can i run the engine before I have to change the piston? the bike is a 96 FC 501 I drive mostly in the forest, and i dont have much rpm on the engine at all! maybe 3000-4000rpm ? the throttle is maybe 1/7 of full throttle or something like that..

I dismantled my '95 FE 350 motor without noting the orientation of the top piston ring. One side of the ring is recessed on the entire inside circumference. Does the recessed side face up, down or does it not matter? Thanks, Greg
