I would like some suggestions. I have an stock 02 fc470E I do the majority of my riding above 3000 elevation. the problem in the past has been hesitation and stalling at less than 1/4 throttle, fuel fouled plugs. occasionally difficult hot starting. I had to turn my idle up to keep it from...
I just moved from Utah to MN and the altitude dropped from approx 500 ft to sea level. I have a 1996 FC400 but do not have an original manual. Is the 1999 work shop manual similar? The bike has a Delorto VHSB flat slide carb with a 162 MJ, 50 PJ, K-35 needle on the 2nd from top position. The...
we brits had a bank holiday yesterday so iwas out testing dale's jetting kit at last. hell, i've only had it 6-weeks!
dale advocates completely different pilot jetting to me, the MJ is around 0-5 less than me and i'm 10 less than everyone else so we are talking 'sharp, crisp, lively'...
hello chaps got my beast back from hospital & she is a lot better but i asked a Q a while ago about jetting cos it was not ticking over properly anymore ideas on the best set up for a fe600e 1996 model please would be very helpful cheers :badair: :combustion:
I remember reading somewhere on this site that the FE400 benefits or runs better with 470 jetting.
If so would I be right in saying that the difference from the 400 to 470 is DR266 NJ, K35 needle and 30 throttle (some machining required, 1mm of the bottom of the throttle slide)?
Cheers...
Finally got my new totally stock Husaberg to run and thought I would post my jetting, as I found very little on what setup that was working for other owners, especially at my altitude in MT at 4,200 feet. Not to mention that both the Dealer and Distributor were totally clueless and full of #&%@...
Our very first Husaberg was to be delivered and the customer ran it around our parking lot for a while. When he took the choke off the bike would not run. Whoops! When we did the pdi we never had the choke off as we didn't want to run it too long and we wanted to keep the pipes looking new...
Got a 37 FCR and need to know the jet sizes for a FC470e with a std exhaust. Its set up fine at the moment but its got a open can. When i did put the std can on it didn't want to start on the e-starter but kicked ok if i remember rightly. Tbh i don't know what jets are in it at the moment?
Cheers
:D went for nice ride today at Carnegie had alittle problem rode bike with chock in bike was popping all the time . pulled chock out and the bike ran hard, fast and never popped . so how large should the main jet be to make up for the chock being on any body know?
Wondering if anyone has come up with satisfactory jetting in these bikes as they come so lean from the factory. It is really hard to tell how close we have gotten to ideal jetting riding them through downtown Vacaville.thanks in advance for sharing some knowledge.dan.
Looking for anybody who has a good handle on jetting specs that work for the 04 FE 450 E. This is the first pumper carb that I have owned and would just like to know what others have experienced. I ride mostly forested trails 3500-8000 Ft. elevations 70 to 100 degrees. :?:
Installed a 48 pilot, raised needle one notch from stock, 192 main
Riding locally, 500 ft to 2500 ft ASL with 115 F temps, bike starts great and runs great.
Went up north for the weekend.
8500 ft ASL, 70 F temps.
Bike started normal. bottom end power was better than at home. So...
I'm getting ready for a ride in a month or so where we will be starting out at about 4000ft and riding up to 9772ft max. The bike is an '04 550, which is running good for me at 400ft here at home. I rarely ride above 4000ft, so in the past I've just left things alone. But for this adventure...
Does anyone know a good jetting spec. for my 2001 Fe400e for altitudes between 8,000 and 12,000 feet? I currently have the stock jetting in place which is a 38 pilot and a 190 main. I have a 33 pilot and a 188 main on hand.
I saw Adam85's post regarding his dyno run and exhaust readings on the dyno.
His jetting is MJ 190,PJ 35 (now 56),NJ DR266,Needle K51 pos #3,Start jet 45.
I figured his elevation is similar, though my ambient is considerably higher; 110F.
My stock jetting MJ 185, PJ 35, NJ DR272, Needle...
