just changing the fork spring on an 09 450 and when removing the cap it left a brass threaded thing with a slot in it on top of the damping rod?
upon trying to re thread it into the cap it come against the male part of the clicker and becomes a pig?
any tips? and is it right that it...

I modded the stock end cap today. I enlarged the opening just a little.
I have 2 650s , one with the Akrapovic an other stock exhaust.
It feels like the Akra give me at least a few HP more and the stocker feels
a little restrictive compared.

I am trying to change fork oil wt. but cannot see how to remove the cap from the cartridge to remove the spring. Fork legs are off the bike. The caps have adjustable preload (pin spanner holes). This is on an 05 FS650E. Any help is appreciated.

Can you see the slits I put in there ? I think it works. I am going to clean up the slits and open them up just a little bit more. I also repacked my clutch with a little bit of dog hair, that seems to be working too.
