70 degree here, I have this new coil. The coil came without the spark plug cap. If I pull the old cap off will it be ruined? Does it grab the wire such that it cannot be pulled off? TIA

On the inside of the stock plug cap, should be a small spike or similar that screws in to the HT lead in the same way that NGK caps do? I ask the cap on my 390 has no spike, the lead just pushes in, doesn't seem very secure yet it still works and has not let me down.
