So after reading a bazillion of threads, I'm still not sure about the hole process.
First - where do I stick the gague? here is what I have understood, tell me if I'm wrong.
2.I want to make sure I got this DTC right. the explanation I (think) I understood best was by Taffi on this thread...

I've checked the owners dock, my manual and can't seem to find the right details on checking the cam chain adjustment...or what teh hell to do with the adjuster itself

I am trying to change fork oil wt. but cannot see how to remove the cap from the cartridge to remove the spring. Fork legs are off the bike. The caps have adjustable preload (pin spanner holes). This is on an 05 FS650E. Any help is appreciated.

here is an easy way to find tdc to check valve adjustments
put bike on a stand
take off tank
and valve covers
now take out spark plug
get a coat hanger and straighten it out
put bike in gear, now poke the wire hanger into the plug hole till it hits piston, now roll rear wheel and the wire will...
what are the specs for the valves?
what is the procedure? how do you know it is top dead centre?
pain in the butt not having a manual. Happy to take pics and do a thread on it when i know the details.

has anyone found a tool for adjusting the high speed compression on the rear shock of the 09 husabergs preferably it'll fit in the tool kit ......well hopefully anyway and be very lightweight
My bike running lean so I took the carb off it to adjust it. Anyone have the maintenance manual or can scan or fax the carb page to me? I don't mind doing the work myself but I don't like to do things without proper instructions or directions. At the very least a decent exploded diagram would...
Anyone out there done the adjustment on the 09 bike and willing to share the info? I recently got this bike after owning and maintaining a KTM 520 for the last 4 years. I'm keen not to cock it up...Any workshop manual on the horizon soon?
Thanks, Garth
As it came there was 40mm of fork static sag. Turning the preload adjuster on the top of the 08 forks made a little difference, but not much yet. Can pre-load be put in on top of the springs in the normal way to give the external adjustment more scope and what would be the maximum that could...
Just got myself one of the above & have read the very informative handbook that comes with it. Quite happy with Oil & Filter changes and all that stuff, but I see valve clearances need checking at 3 hrs & subsequantely every 15 hrs.
No idea whatsoever how to do this, and a little disappointed...

Can anyone give me a description of how to adjust the cam chain tensioner. I have 150 hours on my 400 and i've never done it before. I read up in the doc and found all i need except the procedure for adjustment.
I can see that its a ratchet plunger and I guess it's under spring pressure. Is...
Hello Berg Owners,
I am new to this forum and also a new "Berg" owner...2008 FE650E. Can someone advise or direct me to a step by step "valve check adjustment page or overview?"
Just so folks know...it ain't no Honda CRF. I am still wondering why I haven't ridden the CR since the "Berg"...
has anyone else ever had this?
my tappet screws have always gone all the way through until only 3/4 of the nut thread is holding on on one and the others well, the top of the screw is level with the rocker arm.
there is the possiblity that over the years i have mixed an arm or two but...
Can someone please give me a step by step approach to adjusting valve clearances on a FE 550 '07'. Heres what I know: clearance is .12mm. Thats it.
KTM's have a lock bolt for top dead centre. Bergs?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Yes it is the first time I have done this, but I...
I just got my 1998 FC501 running. I picked it up as a basket case, and many thanks to fellow members for all the tips. By the way I just found a new set of the day glo yellow plastic (only missing a front fender and front number plate).
The bike runs very strong, but a little loud (full big...
I didnt like the amount of adjustment on my berg compared to my ktm & found some spacers missing .Now the headlight tilts right into my preference . Just thought i'd post a pic in case others want more adjustment .
Some debate elsewhere in the forum about what the best method is. I prefer the 1/6, 1/8 method as I think its accurate, more accurate than feelers.
Vote for your preference.
