Anyone know where in the UK I can get one of the YTZ7S batteries, preferably before the weekend??

Thanks

Paul

I have one for sale but I am in the States, it would take a few days to get there and shipping would kill.

frosty

you could have mine on sunday! i just took it off yesterday and am running without the battery and starter. i seem to remember getting mine from a huge 'battery' web site that's UK based.

Thanks for the offers etc.

I managed to find one - from DCR (last one in stock) bloody expensive though.

Taffy, you doing either of the eastern centre 2 man'ers in July??

Regards

Paul

whato paul

i'll be there sunday of course. the next week i'm out with chiltern hills at penn near high wycombe (gary grover has entered).

then i'll wait a fortnight before doing the 12-hour at whaddon on the 26th with TBEC.

on july 10th i will do 'new fields farm, nottingham' with TBEC while you're at hawkedon or if my american friend chooses to continue racing i may do the 2-manner there. after all it is only 20 miles away!

on the 17th i have an athletics comp for my children so...

C U sunday.

Taffy,

Not enterted on Sunday. But Pete and I are hoping to get to a practice track somewhere. After the Tunstall 2 man'er I have stripped the bike down and having extricated the battery - I have discovered it is knackered.

Oil, valves and battery scheduled for Saturday with a thorough clean up and rebuild.

Toying with booking up Kiwi for one of his training days in Thetford - just to get a bit of professional guidance on riding!

Regards

Paul

training-good idea! you'll learn a lot-chris knows everything!! if you want to practice and can make it all the way up to swaffham on either 18/19 june we could show you around there and some lines... £20 per day.

you might find that having done the battery, that the sprague bearing is the next to show it's ugly face....!

good luck

Taffy

Did you try Gary Grover on 01488 670400 - he usually keeps a couple in stock.

(Useful for further reference even if you have already found one)

Cheers,
Simon

Have you tryeded a moped shop? This type of battery is fitted on many type of mopeds and on Honda CRF 250X, Yamaha WR250/450F, there are some brands with the same ref. and japanese tech like the brand Yassa much more cheaper.

Got the battery eventually, despite DCR saying for £15 I would have the thing for Saturday - they handed to the courier company with delivery instruction to be next working day!!!

So I despite paying for a quick delivery to my house I end up driving 60 mile round trip to collect the thing from the courier depot!!

Moving on - top up charged it on the optimate and installed ready for a day at a local practise track. Had to perform a valve adjustment at the circuit, that done ready to go and she worked fine.

My mate had no luck with his KTM it having thrown his chain. So I lent him my bike for a few laps - he completes one lap and the bike cuts out and will not restart on the button or with a load of kicks - new plug same story.

I am now a little pee'd off as I am not sure there is a spark what are the thoughts or what should I check first on strip down??

Regards

Paul

sorry to hear that paul. sounds like everything is conspiring against you!

to check for the spark place the plug in the cap and lay on the head before kicking. an orange spark is iffy-a blue spark should mean that all is good.

do all your earths again. use some p600 or emery to 'key' the surfaces etc. check the HT into cap and into coil.

regards

Taffy
