Year of ignition change

Hi guys,

a few quick questions......as far as I know there was an ignition change from SEM to KOKUSAN.

1. when did this change happen (Model Year)?
2. what benefits/advantages has the KOKUSAN?
3. can I install a KOKUSAN in an engine that was originally equipped with a SEM?

1. first year is 2004
2. /don't know/ better, longer life ignition

first year was - as said - 2004 model

technically more sophisticated and has the keihin carb with the TPS added too. so difficult to seperate but the dell orto and SEM can be greatly improved making tyhem very close. out of the crate though the kokusan is more refined and has no troubles of course which the SEM does when it gets wet.

someone has done it but as I say, the dell orto can be improved a lot and the SEM a little. with that done it isn't worth it.
