Would this road be good to use an '05 FS650e on? (pics)

Hey....I think I know that road Kirk. Is it the road up to Mount Haleakala in Maui...largest dormant volcano in the world...???

If it is....get that 650 shipped over to you and pound it up and down that 10,000 foot "hill" every chance you can!!!!!

I was over there in 1998 and rented a big pig....Harley Road King...from the local bike rental place and rode it to the top. You could only rent Harleys. It was fun riding that big couch up there but I remember clearly that I wished I could do the same run on a sport bike of some sort. Non stop twists and turns from top to bottom. There is a sign on the road on your way up that says 4500 feet. I have a picture somewhere of me smoking the tire on the Harley in front of that sign.

Kirk

Indeed you have life rough :(

If you need a little company keeping your sanity, I'll take some time to help a fello bergite, if you don't mind.

Until then, take care, try and keep the cup at least half full and things will start looking up......

(sound byte - expedia.com - fast flight to Maui please.....)

Yes, it is Crater Road on Mt. Haleakala.

There are a few places where you can momentarily get up to 150 mph or so, but the run-off is horrible- volcanic rock walls, Armaco, and cliffs. Most of it is pretty much linked 10 and 15 mph corners where even first gear on the '04 R1 is too tall, and your speed is usually limited by how fast you can flip it from side to side- it can wear you out on a sport bike. A buddy of mine showed me the road when I first moved here, and I struggled to hang with him on his XR650R 'tard.
