I'm looking to convert a dirt bike to a street legal dual sport/ supermoto, the Fx450 caught my eye as one in my area appeared for a good price with a few tasteful mods done to it. I figure I need a speedo/tach, dualsport kit from sicass racing, radiator fan, and some more street orientated d.o.t. tires (later in the future I would love to get some supermoto rims for it) plus re-gearing better for the road. I live in Texas so I don't think I will have any problems making it street legal. The Fx450 i'm looking at is a lot cheaper than a FI wr450f even after making it legal, which is nice cause my budget isn't the highest.
My main questions would be:
I know the Fe450 would make a better road bike but is there any reason I would want to consider something other than the Fx450? Most of my riding would be on the road, more city riding around 45mph with no highways.
And can someone who has done this comment about their experience?
Thanks for your time, Ben.
Edit: Thanks for the reply's everyone, wasn't able to make time to see the bike due to 4th of July, maybe next time i go to travel to the town the bikes at i will get to take a look at it!
