Worth how much?

As it seems I'm closing a chapter here and have no idea what's going on in Husaland anymore, I just thought I'd put this out to the forum and see what comes back.

I've looked around my garage and here is what I've got:

1 x immaculate 2003 FS650c Supermotard - complete and running well - with FCR and Dellorto carbs - enduro exhaust system (road legal).
1 x road registered frame (X reg) that I put the 03 engine in to run legally on the road.
1 x set of off - road wheels
1 x set of off road forks
1 x spare rear shock
1 x spare rear swingarm
1 x Front Brembo brake setup for enduro
1 x Doma race exhaust system
1 x Lineaweaver LX2 camshaft
1 x spare tank
1 x spare radiator
1 x competition stator assembly
1 x electric starter kit

I have a few more bits in a big parts bin too that would be thrown in, but what kind of money is this stuff worth nowadays in UK?

I'd appreciate your help,
Simon

Hi philis,

Thanks for your interest in the exhaust. I was ideally looking to sell it all as a lot.

So come on folks, 177 views and no one from the UK has any input? Or is just there isn't any love left from members over this side of the pond? That would be a sorry state of affairs.

All I'm after is an idea of what the market's like at the moment, it can't be that difficult....at least a ball park on what whole 2003 650s are going for nowadays, please.

Cheers,
Simon

best bet has to be ebay and what that model is going for on there......... but i'm guessing you've done that already.

Not a question of how much love I have left, more that never having owned that model or been looking to buy one I have absolutely no idea what it's all worth (I'm sure you could make a better guess than me as at least you've got one). I could throw out a random number if that would help? :?:

Hey plumbbob,

Yes, doing that as stuff comes up on there, but it's not always the greatest of measures.

Thanks,
Simon

Pictures would be a great help. I still think you would get more selling them separatley, but its more work for you.

Hi Simon, I'm new to berg ownership but I have done quite a lot of looking recently before I bought mine. It's always hard to put a price on a bike with spares cos sometimes the spares may be of little use to a buyer, or they may be well worth the extra.

Also, the value of anythin is dictated by how much someone is willing to pay. In my very humble opinion it'd be worth just over 2 grand with the bits an about 1500 to 1800 without, depending on condition. Like someone else said though, you'd make more sellin the bike separate with just a few spares and sell the main spares seperately.

Hope this helps an I hope I've not offended

Jason

Just read the spares list again an you'd probably get more than I thought altogether, about 2 an half grand.

Maybe bein a bit tight with the bike value but it's simply cos I think people would buy an 04 onwards instead of shelling out 2 grand for an 03. I got my 03 in tip top condition with loads of spares for 1700

Hey Jason,

No offense at all. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it. It's in the ballpark I was imagining.

BTW, I still think the 03 was one of the better production runs they did with the old model.

Cheers,
Simon

I think you may have a twisted frame or something there Simon, the whole bike seems to be going sideways!!

Best get that sorted before you sell it on!

Ah, that must be where I was going wrong all those years!

Gidday Simon, did you accidently post the wrong photo for selling the bike?
All I can see is the front wheel, back tire, forks and the whites of your eyes    That photo looks more like the photo you show your mates, your kids and your grand kids. Ya show off

Mate, that is a seriously seriously impressive photo, I have had to have more than a few looks at it. I just can't get my head around myself actually ever been even able to go quick enough on the tar for the rear wheel to slide. Actually I am sure if my rear tire slipped even half an inch sideways on the tar I would need new underwear :?

Can you post some more of those pictures? :D

Are you hanging around UHE after the bike is gone? Looks like you could teach a few Super Moto newbies a thing or two.

I hope you get the right price for the bike too. Good luck with your health and thanks for the enjoyment.

Hey Davo,

Thanks for your generous words! :) I posted that pic as it reminds me how much I don't want to sell the bike, so yeah, accidentally on purpose :D

I think I actually wrote a whole explanation on how to back in a supermotard. I'm sure it's in the sm archive somewhere. And if there's interest, maybe one of the moderators might want to make it a sticky. The problem I've always found is how controversial the subject is, and not just on forums. I was once coaching a rider how to back it in on a circuit and one of his mates was there. His mate wasn't riding, had never ridden an sm let alone ever slid a bike and he proceeded to tell his mate how he should be riding it out there on the circuit, basically ignoring what I was saying - it was a funny experience. Then there is bike setup, that's almost even worse and always very personal.

I'm always willing to help and give advice if someone asks though!

All the best,
Simon

Backing it in I think is a technique that has variations, depending on the rider's backgrounds. I've been told that street riders do it a bit differently than dirt riders, but I am not that good rider to be backing in my SM to verify that, but I have more success on the dirt with my Berg

I would be interested to go through that post of yours Simon, backing it in is one of the things I want to be capable of doing with my SM.
