Had a typical follower bearing failure in my -02 650 fe berg and found out that the needles in the bearing have "curved" the inner part of the follower. Is this dangerous? How worn can the followers be before they need to be replaced? Is there any cure for this or do i just need to buy brand new ones?
First i thought the problem was only the follower in which the bearing had failed but it seems like both of the followers have worn a bit, the failed one a little more. Seems like this has happened to the previous owner maybe aswell... Here's a pic of the case:

freaky did you smooth the edges till the whole inner surface was flat or did you just leave them curved but smoothed? i remember reading from some topic that there should be some rather small gap between the bearing and the edge ( like 0,3mm?) or am i completely wrong ? If i did what you adviced, wouldnt it make the gap bigger or does it really even matter? thanks for the fast reply btw! great forum indeed.
