Wiring Up Aftermarket Horn Switch - please help?

Hi All,

I just wondered if you could help, I have purchashed the switch below to improve on the very poor standard cv indicator/light switch that broke first time out! I have wired up and the lights and indicators to the new switch which work great :)

The only issue I have is that the horn was 2 wire from the original switch (power and earth) and my new one only has one wire, I believe the horn worked by grounding the circuit to the bars originally and obviously the new switch is not grounded so I cannot do this.

Can anyone please advise on how I should wire up the horn switch?

There doesn't look to be an earth wire from the new switch but it still works for lights/indicators etc?

When I earthed the horn direct to the chassis it worked continually and the live connection to the new switch horn wire did nothing when pressing.

I am unsure how I can replicate the making circuit of the existing switch when the new one has only one wire?

P.S my bike is a 2013 Husaberg FE501

Thanks in advance,

Steve

With out seeing the wiring to the new switch I'd be guessing. But maybe you can run a earth wire from the new switch/horn. But again that horn must have power and earth for it to work. Maybe the switch housing is earth. check the horn switch closer use a meter/tester on it.
Good luck.

Sorted, I must have blown a fuse, I just earthed the one horn connector to the frame and the one switch wire is the live so now working :)

Thanks for the reply rainerio
