First post (and somewhat shameful!)

Having owned my 2011 FE 570 S since new, I have managed to put 30 hours and 901 miles on her. The bike is the nicest "garage art" I have ever owned. Am I trying to preserve this awesome machine for someone else as I gingerly ride it on the country roads and the occasional fire road?

I need some intervention...

Your money, your choice. You dont need to justify to anyone else your actions.

I'm afraid I suffer from a similar sickness. However, I have managed to rack up 49hrs and 1600 miles on my plated 2011 FE390. Maybe if they were still being produced I wouldn't concern myself with "preserving" it? I need a couple more, like Alan, so I can spread the love around.

I get the preservation thing Joey. Some parts are not particularly plentiful.

I did anticipate the eventual discontinuation of factory plastics/seat cover by buying extras of all. I'm surprised to see that most of the mechanical parts are readily available. I'll surely give KTM credit for honoring things thus far.

I understand completely!!

For what it's worth, the moments I've had while riding are deeper and stronger than the regret I've had at broken or worn technical items :)

My 2010 390 has 6700 miles....260 hours....motor has never been apart aside from adding a recluse...still runs like a clock, and its been through the ringer.....just like a woman....ride it hard and smack it around now and then and it will hang around for many long years of service :p :p :p

My 570 is favoured over the others. Vortex, 450 airbox, free breathing and Akra.

The 610 is my bush hack. Ported head, more fuel, 450 airbox. Free breathed in, Akra out.

The FX450 is the bike friends borrow. Cleaned up for 57hp.
