Thanks for the input. Does anyone run the forward bar mount ? What difference did you notice ?
I run my bars in the forward mount, with an underbar stabilizer, and the bars rolled forward a bit. This set up is for standing most all of the time, cutting across open desert, and it works great.
The thing you have to get used to is that the bars will feel kind of high when you are sitting, and this tends to make the bike want to stand up in corners. And the bike can feel kind of "long" when you are climbing hills, or are in the whoops, but, again, this set up I run is for standing for long periods of time, so I just adapt my riding style to suit the other conditions.
However, with bars in this position, you can get way forward on the tank, and still have room to turn the bars in tight with your leg getting in the way.
Everything is always a compromise of one sort or another, so you just have to set it up where it is comfortable most of the time.
