White smoke

Hi all! Brand new to this forum. I bought a 2005 FC 550 which is a beast to put it mildly. I bought it off a guy with 9 hrs on it. I have put 18 hrs on it. So it's very new. But the previous owner had it sit all these years with very little riding. When I bought it from him I changed all the fluids in the whole thing. Starts second kick and pulls hard. But since I have had it it has been putting out white smoke when it starts. It tapers off once warm but after 30-45 min it will occasionally have a puff of white smoke. Wondering what this is? My thought was coolant but I can't imagine a head gasket would go with such little hours on it. And it seems to not be using coolant. It also smell like burnt oil. But not the bluish smoke that would accompany it. And it is using a little bit of oil. ( hence the thought is burnt oil). Any help would be nice. Thanks

Is you oil level high? Could be sucking through the air filter?

What happens is oil gets tossed up into the frame from the breather tube and drips down to the carby and that's why the smoke.

If she starts to blow smoke, just stop and pull the air filter off and look down to the carby and you will see oil puddling there, I get this at times if the oil is over 3/4 full on the window, the book says it should be at 1/2 way but I like to be sure to be sure because there is bugger all oil held in these engines.

Remove the breather hose from the crank case to the frame air box, and add a PVC valve, there is a part # on here somewhere, just do a search. or do what I did and just let the hose hang down into the skid plate and block the frame connection with foil tape.

I think that the timing chain just gets swamped when to much oil is added and she starts splashing it up the front vent pipe and the gores mat can not cope with it all , I am thinking of using a gores mat cut up to fit over the top of the original gores but a finer type like carby cars had with PCV hooked up inside of the air filter, it should let oil through but not as easily as the original berg one does as it looks like a 1940's type of thing that belongs in the old oil bath air filter.

Hi All,

Brand new to the forum as well. Just bought my first Husaberg/Bike (2013 FE 350) and been loving it. I am pretty mechanically challenged but changed the oil anyway. I overfilled and it was blowing lots of white smoke. Drained it again and refilled to 3/4 of the window full. Still blowing white smoke. Likely oil in the air filter? Or something more serious?

PS, I already feel pretty stupid so be gentle please hahaha

Thanks for the help in advance:)
