DELO= diesel engine lubricating oil

LOL!

It's hard to admit that I didn't figure out that acronym myself

Dumb-de-dumb...

I run the delo equiv. available here in australia for my first 8 changes bar the oil put in at service (shell advance) and then have swaped over to motul 300v 15/50 i think.
I have been changing oil every 300-500km closer to 300 on the delo and right out to 500km on the motul.
at 500km the motul still looks great.

about $55 per 4 liter

one liter bottles costs about $25 from the local gas station

Crazy prices as are the prices for most two-wheel specific oils out there. I think the marketing men know we're suckers and will take it.

You can go for an oil with good (don't know the correct english term) strength and "stickyness"

Do you mean viscosity? The ability for a fluid to resist shear forces?

What are our european supermoto friends using?

I personally use a diesel engine oil from Chevron (which is not marketed as Delo in the UK). It costs me the whole mighty sum of about £32 for a 25 liter drum. Compared to many oils priced at between 28 and 40 pounds for 4 liters it works out at a massive saving.

Alternatively, I have also used a fully synthetic petrol engine oil again from chevron that they say is suitable for high performance motorcycle engines which costs me about £50 for a 25 liter drum.

Both oils are 10w40 with options on the petrol of 5w50 if you pay a bit more.

Cheers,
Simon

the best oil is BEL RAY the fullysynthetic stuff. It does not like to mix with semi synth so u must do oil change and filter, but is not cheap! go for bulk as it does work out cheaper, and it is used by racers the world over! it was available in Germany, but I cannot say if you can get it in Sweden!

Hey there chamber66,

Costco is your best bet for the oils I mention. I have an account also with another oil wholesale company but costco always has the stuff in stock and at the best prices. I suspect that the diesel oil they sell may actually be Delo under a different name, but I haven't been able to confirm that.

Hope this helps,
Simon

I buy oil that says "designed to protect under extreme conditions"
NO SHeeT!
COME ON !!!! what oil is for nice lovely conditions?
