I have a Mikuni carb'ed 650 SM. I have great trouble starting my bike. I believe its not getting enough fuel when cold and the choke's been pulled out.

Does anyone know if the Mikuni TMR carbs have a choke jet, or any way of varying the fuel flow through the choke circuit ?

Please help.

Lloyd

try allins performance. they advertise in the back of TBM.

I have one of the new Husky 450 MXer's, it had a 32 pilot jet and had the same problems with starting as yours, we changed it to a 40 and it fixed the problem, also went up to a 178 Main, but thats here in Oz.

enrichening the entire circuit hardly seems a good way to start the bike correctly. there is always some form of enrichener to start the bike. the circuit and it's jet will be connected to the button you pull out so just follow it around the carb until you get there.

if you look, you'll find an unexplained jet somewhere!

Believe me Taffy I have looked long and hard.

I can see the gold coloured tube which takes the fuel up to the choke button, but cannot follow where exactly it goes down below.

I think I'm gunna ring Allens Performance.

Cheers, help if u want.

Lloyd.

SMH - I've had mowers that you're sposed to lay on their side till petrol spurts out a little hole in the side of the carb. Would that work?
