i came across a 1995 Husaberg 501, its in pretty bad shape and i thought it would be fun rebuilding it. but i'm having a hard time finding part for any price. does anyone have ideas of places to order parts or other simular bikes that parts might work? i've been told that some KTM parts will work with mine.

 sorry i've been in hospital for a week with a tooth abscess the size of a football.

there should be plenty of rocker arms kicking around for the older bergs , what part of the world are you in ?

don't quote me on this but i think the rockers are all the same from 350 cc up to 600cc , and up to the year 2000.

Q what is the problem with your rockers,

regards

scrap.

hello, 1995 motors have the 10mm rocker shafts, 48 mm water impeller and the valve screws without the elephant style end.

10mm shafts are not available since 1996 when they changed to 12mm shafts.
there is no way on earth you find the oem 10mm shafts.

part number 200-177-01 is a special kit by husaberg which costs about 350 euros, it is a complete rocker cover that still has the 48mm impeller cavity but with 12mm rockers and shafts.
12mm rockers can not be installed at your old rocker cover.

you will have to fabricate 10mm shafts using some hard material. i.e. i used a couple of old valves from a JCB or something.

the end of the shaft rests on a hole on to the rocker cover, a good idea is to bore the hole and put a bushing there because its propably worn.

for the people with older husabergs (1996 and older )that have rocker arms that are no longer avail, can a 1997- 2000 r occker cover assy be installed?dan

no because 1996 and on husabergs use 50mm water impeler with a different impeler cavity.
pre 1996 use 48mm impeler.

1996-2000 cylinderhead+rocker cover can be used as a set directly to a pre 1996 model.

200-177-01 is a special rocker cover with 12mm shafts and rockers but with 48mm impeler cavity style.

best solution for pre 1996 is for my opinion to machine new 10mm shafts and then treat them for hardening and grind the tip of the valves down to 1.2mm so as to be able to use the newer elephant foot style adjustement screws.
