Where behind headlight to get 12 volt for GPS?

Hi all, I have searched on this but did yet find the exact answer I was looking for...

I have 2011 FE390 (EU) and would like to make a 12 volt connection to power my GPS and possible my IMO trip computer or Tripy. Off course I can pull a cable from the battery to the front, but then I would have to make a switch also to be able to power off the equipment. I have searched for a spare connection under the dash but did not find a "spare" I could (mis-) use.
I read in one of the topics that power can be pulled from one of the headlight wires, but:
- Not sure which one
- Not sure if it would have power when the headlight is off (which I prefer)

Being a non-techie and seeing the wealth of knowledge here, looking forward to hear your best practise for this.

Thanks!

I used the permanent live that goes to the start button, i think that's the only live wire behind the headlight when the bike is off.

On my 2010 (USA) I used a spare power connector that sits underneath the battery. I had to take the tank off to get to it, but it worked great. I didn't have to splice into the wiring harness. I just bought a matching connector from Radio Shack and ran two wires up to the front for my GPS. This power source is always on.
