"the L.H. side engine cover off.you will have to remove the exhaust pipes first. Then right there in front of your eyes you will see your lost part sitting on top of the chain sprocket on the engine. " It was really there! :D
Now I have another problem, I can't lift the head, seems, it's stopped by one of the main bolts(I'm not sure about the word, but these are four :?: ). As far as I can see the thread of this bolt "bites" head's material :( Have I forgotten something to dismantle?

yes!

there is a small screw that goes UPWARDS. it is located above the coolant entrance to the cylinder on the left.

easy to miss!

"there is a small screw that goes UPWARDS. it is located above the coolant entrance to the cylinder on the left." Taffy, I checked, but seems all bolts and screws are done! I think this screw is even shown in the manual, isn't it?

if you found the screw that's good tuflek! the next thing to do is give the engine a 'tap' with a hammer upwards and the head should come loose.

it will have a hollow sound as you do it and should absorb your hammer blow. keep tapping!

however if it is 'hard' you still have something wrong!

if you look at the headgasket on the left side of engine you will see a small M6 screw that is upside-down into the head. i can't see a photo anywhere to help though-sorry!

Hi tuflek,

I don't know what year your Berg is, if it is a 2001 or later there is one 6mm cap screw on the water pump side.

If your Berg is a 2000 or earlier model, there are three 6mm cap screws; one on the front, one on the back and one on the water pump side.

The one on the back is difficult to get to and torque properly.

Regards,

Joe

Taffy, all these screws are done, and it still seems problem is one of the other four (bigger ones). The head is stuck on the thread to one of these "main" bolts(there should be a special word but..) :?

the M6 is under the inlet for the coolant-directly below and you say you have done this?

4 head bolts

camchain off and out the way

exhaust headers off

carb off

now tap upwards and diagonally with a copper or 'dead lead' hammer.

i've run out of ideas otherwise-sorry!

regards

taffy
