Someone bought a FE470 overhere and says it's a 2004 model but looking at the pic it seems a 2003 or older model.
Could you experts help me out on this one?
It's going to be rebuild to a Supermotard btw.

Bluto, I have to guess, because from the colors it looks to me like a 2001 FE400e. If it is actually a 470, then I would guess that the bike is a 2001 FX470e with an enduro headlight and front plate. In the picture, the seat seems to be missing the letters to complete the word Husaberg.

Of course the broachers I am looking at could be wrong....

Here is my 01 FX470 taken at Moab. The only non-original plastic are the yellow handguards. They are off an 03.

AND

DCR took back a ship load of unsold FE470s or whatever and knocked 'em out real cheap. this was when the USA was swopping importers like i swop cars.

Here's a pic from the Husaberg official pics of a 2002. The US models seem to all have come with the older long muffler.

The engine size can be deciphered from the engine serial number located on the right side of the cylinder.

Powerfiend, your picture is a much better reference than mine, especially since it shows the same seat pattern and coloring as the one in Bluto's picture.

It MUST be a 2002!

It is 2002 ,if it has a 18" rear wheel it is a Fx 470e with a light kit.If it has a 19" rear wheel it is a FC470e with a light kit. All the 470cc engines were equipped with the long muffler in 02 whereas the FE models have the current style muffler.I have a FC470 02 at the shop and the body looks the same as this one.I also have a 2002 fe400e(I wanted one just like Taffys) it looks the same except for the exhaust.I do not think they made a fe model 470cc engined bike.

i should have come clean out with THAT statement as well. they didn't make a FE470e so someone has converted a MX machine to road spec and they will have bought the bike for peanuts i guess.

Thanks for the fast replies guys,seems he bought a 2002 model which was made roadworthy in July 2004...
Tolled him to check this site before buying a Berg.I did it and helped me a lot.
Biggest "knowledgetank" in the world.Thanks again and keep the FORCE alive!!!

I have an '02 FC550/6 and the bike pictured above looks identical to mine with the exception of the lighting kit and kick stand. Unless all the plastics and graphics have been changed it does indeed look to be that of an '02 model bike.
