I Recently Bought An Older Husaberg 501e. The Lady I Bought It From Said It Was A 1999. How Can I Tell For Sure?

Thanks

stick a photo up and we should be able to tell you in about 30 seconds.

other wise stick the chassis engine numbers up and someone can translate them.

other than that 98 and 99 bikes had the non inverted forks is the most obvious detail.

this is a pretty good representation of the standard 1999 husaberg.

And the 99 was the first with PDS. the 2000s, possibly built in 1999 had the new frame.

What Is PDS?

It Does Have A Non-Inverted Front End.
Electric Start.

It Looks Very Much Like The One In The Picture.

I Have It Apart (Plastics And Seat Off) Because It Had Been Sitting For 5 Years Before I Bought It.

I Can Get Engine #, Or Vin# If That Would Help

Thanks For The Help

PDS Progressive Damping System, or no linkage, the top of the shock is bolted to the frame, and the bottom directly to the swingarm. OTTOMH, developed by Ohlins for/with Husaberg, and cloned by KTM/WP when they bought Berg and WP.

The 99 and 2000 engines were much the same and had a different ignition to earlier models too. The 2000s reverted to inverted forks, so you've most likely got a 99, possibly built in 98. The VIN will tell.

The Shock Mounts Directly To Swingarm And Frame N Linkage.

VIN#:YU7FE5018XE000002

Case #:(Cast In The Case) 220058
Case#:(Stamped In Case Above The Previous #) 1153003

# Cast On Head: 200013

All Help Has Been Appreciated

Thanks
