blue frame could be 05 or 04, you are right, 06s had black frame. If the oil filler plug is really hard to get to and level with the ground it is an 04. 05 had a 45 bevel on the filler to make it easier.

I would say it is even older then '04. This taillight is used on a '03 and older. You can check it to be sure on the other side of the bike at the engine cover.
It is possible that a pics was snapped of the wrong bike as a they have several for sale. So... any definitive answer on year and displacement of the bike pictured?

its either an 05 with a plastics swap with 06 inc fuel tank or its an 06 with a frame swap to 05 or 04, an easy way to tell what the engine year is the first number is the year so if its a 5 its a 2005 eg 5 * 820 * 00001 *. 820 means its a 650, 800 its a 550, 810 means 450. The other 5 numbers are its unique serial number.DAY51 said:

If you give me the last 6 digits on the frame and the engine number i can tell you if its had frame or engine change after it left the factory.
