Fork seals have been leaking on my 98 fe 600, so today me and my sweety had a date. While I slowly spread ... Hey Wait! This aint a **** site! Well anyway, the seals went in great,but,..I decided to go with 10 wt fork oil and held the oil down apprx. 125 mm.In the USA that comes to around 4 1/2 inches, I think. According to the Doc 1 litre of oil should do both forks, well 1 fork took about 800 ml to get me to the height. I could understand a little difference but to me that seems like quite a bit. Also once I got everything back together i tried to take my clickers down to there lowest setting and am getting no feed back or cant feel the clicks.Did I do something wrong? Thanks Guys!

Sounds like the 50 mm extremes. They use about 7-800 mm per leg. Dunno exactly, just fill them to desired level, and pump and bleed the damper rod to get the air out. If you clickers are not working you've probably got the caps screwed on too far. I thought i had the measurements written down somewhere but I can't find it at the moment, someone else may have it, baut basically if you screw the cap on too far you lose the adjustment. When pulling apart you need to check where the lock nut is. 12mm of thread into the cap rings a bell, but ........

hi schultzy

i'm sorry but the doc is for bikes 2001 and newer. the newer model. so you'll need to check the downloads for that.

On the older 5060 extreme forks, which fork is the compression side or does it even matter,it looks like someone changed the caps on me or the guts.Right now my rebound is on the brake side fork and compression is the other. My caps showed otherwise.
