My WER damper is going away.It has about 15hours
on it and now I have it dialed to the max. with out
much effect.I ate it once when the front end tucked under,
the bike had never done that before. Are these servicable?
Or are they a disposable device?

I had the damper off, disassembled and reoiled,
reinstalled, in less than an hour.Fairly simple
inside. The teflon sleeve that moves the oil is worn,
and I will have to order one.Where is the best
place to get one?

Get one direct from Works Enduro Rider. The kit is offered with or without a shaft. Check shaft for wear at seal and replace if worn.

Easy to rebuild and was about $65 with shaft if I recall correctly.

The damper only has 15 hours on it.The only noticable wear
is on the plastic sleeve that moves the oil.I plan on machining
my own, nylon 101 and delrin tf&af are available where I work.

I just repaired my damper.I made a two thou
larger plastic sleeve out of delrin. .457 vs .455.
It was a little stiff at first, broke it in and then started to
experiment with oils.I am using a 10wt Hydralic oil
right now and it works pretty good.5wt was too thin.
I might try something a little heavier, any suggestions?

t-jet-tim,

Im not familure with the WER dampner but my SCOTTS recomends mineral oil I think..... not positive though. Im not sure what the "weight" of mineral oil is but maybe give that a try?

My bad!!! I was thinking of the Magura clutch, not the dampner. I just checked the SCOTTS manual and what they recommend is:

1) Bel Ray HVi light or 3wt.

2) Spectro Very Light

3) PJ1 2.5wt.

Hope this helps...
