Weird problem

I got the 501 motor running pretty good at the start but it was a ***** to kick start
so i changed the flywheel and stator and it was working excellent. One kick on cold machine was enough.
One day i lost the headers on the exhaust and i drowe it home Was a 5 min drive
Now its like i can start it easy with one kick but it tops out at 3500rpm or so.
Up until the rpm tops it runs good on all gears I get passed by 125ccm bikes now couse the top speed is so low. But as i said its easy to start and it runs like normal up until a point on the rpms and then its like hitting a wall.
Anyone got any tips it wil be very helpful

RE: Weard problem

Dont know all the valves looks good but i havent opend the motor just looked in the inlet and outlet holes when turning the engine
besides i dont have any noises from the motor

RE: Weard problem

Okey i checed the valves and they are working good so im thinking its a electric problem. the harness looks like a mess.

Sounds like fuel delivery. Possible tank vent or even a main jet possibly plugged. It could be a coincidence to the header falling off. Did any vent hoses get melted when the header came off?

I like the valve spring idea too. Did you give the springs a good inspection?
