week end trail ride

Incredible pics,such a stark landscape..looks like great motorcycling for sure.I like the pic of the blue sky and the black landscape in the same pic,must be a function of the extreme sun angle in the far north ....cool

I notice that there are NO tree's to be seen, must be a pretty harsh place in the winter.

Looks like a few of you had trouble with the long water crossing, did you get water in the carbs?

And, what was for dinner that you were cooking outside?

bums fine, did a lot of stand up riding.

yes its very hash in winter, this area is very often not ridable in winter unless by snowmbile.

3 bike of 5 were drowned. water in carbs, engine, and soaking wet airfilter.
slowed us down by 2 hrs drying each bike. turned them upside down to pump water out of the engine drianed carbs etc.
My sone and i played it smart and wlaked our bikes over. Only ones to make it without dry bikes.

we are grilling a leg of Icelandic lamb
 
iceland is on my list of holiday destinations yet to be visited.
had a friend, ed jones, who came across with david knight a few years ago and raced an event put on by the ktm importer. he ejoyed it.
 
that was the trans Atlantic 6 hour offroad challange.

I was one of the track marhals for that event,
