Water pump leaking coolant

I have a 2005 FE550 and it has just started leaking a fair bit of coolant from the weephole.

I've ordered a kit from Orangeberg and also replacment o-rings/gaskets for the other bits/pieces and hope to do the work to replace the parts in the next week or so. Just waiting now on Australia Post and Canada Post!

Kit arrived today - have the gaskets and will start tomorrow night (maybe!!)...can't wait to get on the bike again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheers: :cheers: :cheers:

Well....did the job. Got it back together, and now the kick start is jammed. Must not have held it in as securely as I thought when removing the side case cover.

Is this something that is easily fixed, or do I need to take it to the shop?

i think you need to remove the side cover and the clutch to reinstall the kick...
maybe you could skip clutch remove

Side cover off. Clutch basket off. Get the fiddly barstage back in its little slot in one peice. Try and get the whole thing back together without it popping back out.

One tip. when reassembling it slip a thick cable tie between the kicker pawl gear and the back of the clutch basket with the end of it sticking out a long way so you can pull it out once you have the cover in place. It helps a lot.

.....ran it down to the shop today....don't think I'm up for messing around with the clutch basket.
