First time out on my 07 450. Went through a little puddle and had to get towed back home. Not cool. Air filter was soaked. Do i need to drain the carb now?? Anybody else have this water issue? Looks like i'll have to seal the area under the seat. Really not that big of a puddle.... 25ft long
Up to that point, had a great ride and love the feel of the bike.
Ty for any suggestions

Hi there,
I completely submerged mine once in muddy water.
Pulled the spark plug out, cleaned it
Wring out the air filter
Moped up traces of water from in the frame where air filter goes with my wet sock
Stood the bike up on the back wheel
turned it over on e start and pumped water out of tail pipe and cylinder
dropped bowl on carbi cleaned jets best i could
Bike started and got me home

Dont leave bike sitting after drowning, change out oil and run for a couple of hours to get ride of moisture. Some one told me,it could potentially end up with rust spots on bearings if left sitting.
Clean jets properly and fuel system , should be good to go.
I also run a 1/2 cup of methylated spirits in the tank to break down any water droplets that are missed.

I think that was all i did.

Regards,
