water comming out of the stator cover

hi im new to this site but not new to husabergs i had a 650 2 year ago and sold it missed it so much i got a 2003 400 the problem is theres water coming from the stator cover is this bad ??
 
yes, there should be a large black rubber o-ring on the cover. they usually break and disappear. That could be where the water came in from. You will want to remove the cover and blow out all the water. Water in the stator cover is very bad for the SEM ignitions.
 
To help keep water out of the stator seal the plastic sheath that wraps around the wires that lead to the stator. Zip tying and bending the wiring more than 90 degrees at some point will also help. Water still seems to find its way in there so what some have done is drill a small hole in the bottom of the ignition cover or case to allow it to drain out. It is imperative that the stator cover be removed and the ignition dried every time the bike is washed.
