Hello all Husaberg enthusiasts

I would like to organize a Husaberg get together/ride for late September here in Central Washington within the Teanaway system. Yes, Teanaway. Our group of good friends are planning on riding this area on the 27th-29th. On the Unofficial Husaberg members map, there seems to be roughly 19 members within a 6 hour drive of Cle Elum.

I want to welcome other Berg riders while I "guide" you through some epic Washington single track. I know this area very well, as it is my back yard! Even if you have ridden here, I know of several secret trails that may be new to you

We will be camping the entire three days, but, day rides are always great as well, if that works for you. Camping space will be plentiful, with simple directions. PLENTY of Rum and tequila, but family friendly at the same time.

Riding a Husaberg isn't a must, but I sure hope to see some! The owners of Trailtech will be there, and I hope to convince Jeff Taskey to come as well (our local Husaberg dealer). Perhaps a "slow race" on Saturday night (how good is your balance?), and a big fire of course!

Ride plans, and details in the next post!

Details about the area and the ride(s).

In most of our opinions, Teanaway is the premier trail system to ride. Known for being more on the difficult side of the spectrum, the area gets MUCH less use than the other more commonly ridden trail systems.

However, if you ride the trails the right direction, and map your routes correctly, you can minimize the difficulty.

Saturday will be a 50-60 mile day. Do not scoff at this mileage, this is a good solid day within the Teanaway. Trust me . . . .

There will be several "bail outs" should someone get tired. Also, a second separate loop at an intermediate level. Additionally, there will be a Dual Sport ride option, should the demand be there for that type of ride.

Camp is at roughly 2200ft, with the average ridge trail at 5500ft. The gem of the area, rides 9 miles at 6000ft of primitive single track 8) So, riding in and out of drainages can average 3000ft in elevation change. At one point we will be on the boarder of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Beautiful is an understatement!

Other details worth noting, are that hunting season within this "GMU" or "zone" are not active until later in October. Also historically, campfires will be allowed again by this time of year.

Post or PM me for any details or questions!

My Berg is a supermoto monster not a trail cruiser, so I will not be riding a Berg. But I do have a KTM 300 and would love to get a "tour" of that side of the I-90. I usually ride the south side of the hwy. I will try to get it on the radar and hope to join in the fun.

This a a great start. I would like to also mention there will be a Ladies ride.

A good view of the Teanaway area from one of the ridge trails.

Im interested, let me see if I can get a friend or two talked in to going. I have ridden snowmobiles somewhere close to that area when I was in Seattle, really different terrain from what we have here in Idaho.

What are your plans for a ride on sunday. I can't make it on saturday but don't want to drive half a day for a short ride. Where is the staging area so I can I figure out my driving route. thanks for the invite I hope to be able to ride with you on sunday.

I thought I would let people know that the Eagle creek, and Manastash forest fires are far from the Teanaway. The Manastash fire is effecting some other good riding though.

There will be a ride on Sunday. Most likely up the West Fork to the north, over Jolly Peak, and generally south back towards camp.

Also, I don't want to discourage people from joining the ride due to the reputation of the Teanaway trail system. Yes you should be at least an intermediate level rider to join the main ride, but there are plenty of us to lend a hand should anyone need it!

The hotels in Cle Elum are exactly 30 minutes from camp, if anyone wants to go that route.

I hope to hear from more Berg riders. Aside from a trail or two in the Gifford Pinchot, this area is the best Washington has to offer!

Is this ride still a go? I have a busy month but I am fairly sure I can make it. I also have at least one friend interested and he has a Berg as well. I could prolly also get a few other riders out with Yamabogs and GTMs.

This ride is absolutely still a go! Once we get a bit closer to the date, Im hopeful that folks can confirm so we are able to decide on a camping location suitable for the group size. There are seven rigs as of now.

I mentioned the ride to Taskey, and he expressed interest. It would be great to have our Husaberg dealer join us!

The weather has cooled down, the moisture of recent rains have abated the dust some. Things are looking good.

Oh how I wish this was going to be held on October 4-6th. Gotta work the September weekend, but gonna up north and close by in October. Dang, just my luck. Maybe it will be a yearly ride and I can make it next year? :cuss:

A group of us rode the Teanaway area this weekend. Mostly to ensure that all trails were cleared, but also to get an idea of the ride plan time frame.

We had seven riders in our group. Five advanced, and two intermediate level riders. The two intermediate riders MADE it, but were exhausted and held the rest of the group up a bit. 39 miles took 6 hours.

A couple pictures from Saturday.

Im figuring on an all day ride for our "Iron Man" loop. Hitting all of the best Teanaway has to offer. There will be "bail outs" if your not feeling up to the whole loop
This ride will be Saturday morning, probably leaving camp fairly early.

A second group will have the option of a mellower ride, separate from the main ride. Excellent trail, and incredible views still abundant!

Unfortunately there aren't any beginner/novice trails. But a dual sport adventure can still be had!

Im thinking we need to have exact numbers of riders and camping rigs by Monday the 23rd. This will help me plan out rides and camping space. Trail Tech will be there, but Jeff Taskey is unable to make it. However he is providing some "swag" to give away around the campfire! Nice!

So, if your ready to ride Teanaway, please PM me by the 23rd.

If you can, please tell me . .
-How many in your party (riders)?
-Your skill level? (No judgment here, just want everyone to have fun!)
-If your camping, how large is your rig? (On truck camper, or 39ft triple axle toy hauler!)
-And, when should we expect to see you and your Husaberg!

I will PM you all the info you need to find camp, the local store, the trail head, specific details on the ride plans and anything else you might need to know!

The 7 day forecast looks good for next week!!

We've got Husaberg T-shirts and hats to give away!

Excellent camping by the creek, with bathrooms near as well.

I better do some bike maintenance this weekend!

Received a ton of cool stuff from Jeff Taskey at Taskeys Metric cycles! Hats, shirts, sweet shirts, stickers, packs, banners, beanies and more! Plenty of Husaberg swag to go around!

Plenty of camping room still, and the weather is cooperating perfectly! Rain during the week, and sunshine for the weekend.

The county has lifted the campfire/burning ban as well. Campfire time it is!

Things are looking great. I cant wait to meet fellow forum members, and Husaberg riders!

Very sorry to hear of your accident, and glad that you are fine!

Hopefully we can make this a yearly ride, depending on how this weekend goes.

There is still plenty of camping space within camp.

The weather couldn't cooperate any better with showers until Wednesday, then partly sunny skies there after. Awesome!

I will be headed out there Wednesday night to set up camp, and to start cutting and splitting wood. I foresee a big fire Saturday night . . . .

The ladies are planning a Dual Sport ride over to Lake Cle Elum to eat lunch at the Last Resort. In case this appeals to an 570FS rider or a beginner. Riding with the girls I know, but its beautiful country, and we wont tell!

Camp is set up! I feel as though there is still plenty of room for everyone.

It truly is going to be epic conditions. We will definitely need a BIG fire, it was nice and cool and crisp out this early evening. Just beautiful out as well.

There will most assuredly be a Sunday ride, since we have several people interested in that.

Watch for deer on the Teanaway roads!!!! I had two close calls this evening alone!

Lets ride!

Sorry to have bailed. Was it as wet as the weather forecast predicted? Really wanted that tour but I have been caught in pretty bad weather before on the south side of I-90 this time of year. That's my excuse, now how was the ride?
