mid-wales, uk
after weeks of having two bikes and therefore doing mainteance on neither my ktm's being picked up next wednesday by its new owner.
so decided to give the '03 400 berg the once over. its got a bit hard to start so stripped and cleaned the card, checked the valve clearances and the timing - out slightly - and what you know, starting like a dream.
also fitted my stiffer rear spring a 81-99/265 or some thing like that and gave it a general clean.
new chain and sprockets as well as fitting a new digital speedo.
rebuilt the rear wheel - long story but 2 wheels became 1.
all in all a good evenings work.
next plans are new set of graphics made by Blackbird racing, as these are the only non oem ones i can find in the uk and a powder coat for the frame, leaning towards yellow at the moment
one last thing. it was the first time i'd had the shock off, all the bushes etc in the shock mounting eyes are fine but it was quite hard to get the shock off the swing arm - yes i had removed the bolt - is it usual for them to be so stiff?
