my local and only dealer is selling 06 450 bergs and in the price is a free titanium akrapovic muffler .

western australia only as far as we know .

value of the muffler is $ 1400.00 aus .

That might be Husaberg/KTMs retail price, but you can buy that stuff waaaaay cheaper than that.

A riding aquantaince just bought 2 Akro Ti mufflers for his 950 KTM,
and was able to buy them from the US and bring them into Aus for about 1/2 the asking Aussie price.

Interesting that dealers are starting to offer sweetners to clear 06 stock before the 07s hit the floor....I wonder how many cheap 05s are left in the warehouse and how much cheaper they are gonna be when the 07s land ???

i was told by husaberg that the akrapovic exhaust systems are a force part made by akrapovic for husaberg .

i was told that you can only get the akra gear from the force catalogue

has somebody been telling me porkie pies ???

I would think the situation would be similar to KTMs Hard Parts-

It is substantially cheaper to buy KTM Hard Parts from the US KTM dealers as the prices are much, much cheaper and bring them in yourself.

Most guys I know now source ALL parts ( genuine and non genuine) from US sources as there are substantial savings to be made.

I imagine Force parts from the catalog would be very similar.

Go to the KTM.com site and look for Australia on the map- it doesnt exist.
Starting to get the picture ??

i think you misse sumfink.

about a year or so ago i thinkj faktor mwentioned that husaussie was making a great offer on new machines. i think it was 12 months warranty, a ti system, rucksack, force shirt and jeans.

can't remember what else but they deserved better results.

that chart of sales from a fortnight ago came as a bit of a shock...

Keep in mind, buying from your local Husaberg Dealer, not only helps that dealer, it also helps you get better service down the road...

they must be an officil dealer right?

i've asked over here how they would feel if i started a website and mail order business and to be fair i would be robbing dealers of a much needed income. how do you square that circle....

tell me more about this company.

Taffy

Hi Taffy,
There is currently 1 guy here that has started doing just that- he will take your order, source the parts from a US dealer for you and arrange freight etc- ideal for guys who dont like giving credit card details out etc.

Now if this guy can do this, make money out of for himself it while offering you substantial savings- what does that say about the prices of spares in Australia??

Think about this- there is an Australian bike part manufacturer who exports to the USA. You can buy his parts from the USA, import them back into Aus. , cheaper than you can buy his parts from his Australian distributors. Why ?? because the volume he sells to the USA if his price is competetive makes it worth his while to take a cut in initial profit per unit- but he might sell 50 times more units.

I continue to support my local dealers for the usual bike consumables- oil, tyres etc, but when it comes to big dollar items(steering danpers, Rekluses, exhausts etc everyone I know saves a fortune and sources from the USA.

so he gets in the husaberg stuff right? and he's not an officially sanctioned dealer?

brave man...

regards

Taffy

I was responding to an Australian post.

In the bad days (before BMG) I could not get Husaberg parts in sunny California and my 00 Berg sat for months at a time. I got some parts from Holeshot KTM-Husaberg in Akron Ohio since he was also a KTM dealer he seemed to have the parts I needed. When he dropped his Husaberg line I went to Motoxotica and got parts because he was actually willing to build an inventory of spares which helped him bridge the distributor gap. Motoxotica actually bought Holeshots Husaberg inventory.

In March 03 I heard of 03 rocker arm kits being available in Europe and I needed a set for my 00, which was on its 3rd pair of bearing replacements and I wanted to upgrade. They were not going to be imported to the USA according to my local dealer so I mentioned this on UHE, and a couple members volunteered to help. I got my rocker arms from Europe that way, and I was grateful for the help.

So anytime I hear of a fellow Berg rider having parts or service problems I try to help if I can. You may note that there are very few if any posts lately regarding parts availability problems in the USA. :)

Thank you BMG.

Regards,

Joe
