Hi all.
I am helping a m8 rebuild a basket case (04 650)and was looking for verification from someone in the know about timing marks for CRB gears.
The DOC gives an explanation, but the mark on the balancer weight (factory dot punch) on the outside edge seems to line up nicely with a drilled (factory?) mark on the waterpump shaft gear after I approximated the position of the punch marks on the balancer gear and the waterpump shaft gear.
It seems too conveniant for it not too be the correct marks......

Any input from the knowledgable and experianced if you can understand what I mean?

I understand but I can't help :D

my CB is perfectly aligned with the bottom of the rejects bin

did you mean that while looking at the intermediate gear rotating in side the cases and also watching the counterbalance weight passing each other that two dots align? yes it is for that purpose.
