Hello, i have used the KTM springs in my 650.
The kit enginehardware sells are kibblewhite brand springs. In this kit only the spring retainers are titanium, the actual springs are steel.
With an older Husa like mine 2002 apparantly the casting on the head was not as precise as on the newer models and a little bit of metal will need to be removed. If you do not remove the metal the valve cover will push open the valves just a fraction, wich will cause the bike not to run, wich will cause a long frustrating search for the cause of the non starting
On this pic you can see the marks the valves left in the valve cover.
I grinded of a little bit of metal from the cilinder head and the valve cover, and now the valves fit perfectly.
Another 'issue' is that the standard Husaberg base washer is bigger than the ones you get with the kit. I have spoken to Thomas from enginehardware.se about this and apparantly this is not a problem, they run all their bikes this way.
As you can see in this picture there is about half a mm play around the base washer.
This is a pictuer of the springs fitted, as you can see there is very little room to spare.
I have now ran about 100 km with the bike of wich the first half were easy km's since I was breaking the bike in. No problems so far, no strange noises from the head, very llittle metal in the oil.
I have bougth the kit from Enginehardware.se, I can really recommended these people as they are very patient and helpfull, and once the order was finally placed after about a million emails from me asking about a thousand different things, the parts arrived very quickly.
Christof.
