Valve springs.

I was wondering how many people are getting over 200hrs on the single valve springs without going DVSK. I took an 05 FE650 to 180 hrs without DVSK before selling. I also sold another 05 Fe650 that has about 220hrs no DVSK. My 06 FS650 is at 145hrs but the previous owner had 1 spring break around 80 or 90 hrs. It got replaced with another single. No other damage done. The dealer I bought from and mechanic/owner said he has seen many 200+ he bikes with only single valve springs and no issues.
Any other single valve spring stories?

Enginenumber has a few stories

400 hrs on oem springs iirc

Mine did 220 all measured good except rhs exhaust slightly shorter.

IMHO this one gets hot shortens over time and self destructs if you were to shim it and any others that need doing every 200 hrs I don't think they would fail

I'm not sure which spring went at 90hrs. But I know the guy didn't rev the bike out much. It was an enduro then and he was commuting 20 miles a day with it geared way tall.
I plan on seeing if I can make it 200hrs or more before the DVSK.

2005 FS650...
In a total of 543 hours I only had the one breakdown, rhs exhaust valve spring broke.

Iirc, it was at 250 hours.
'Adult owned' (I revved it often.)

I've been collecting them, have 11 so far. Another 11 and I can make some springy shoes.
