howdy ya'll, I recently purchased a real cheap old berg, entire top end was dickered, and have been steadily replacing and fixing the bike and engine.
I ordered a new head from somewhere in Yankee land and when it arrived it only had three out of four valve shims.
I've been looking everywhere and can send to find any shims thus size.
does anyone know where to order and buy new shims that would fit a 1996 husaberg fc600???
please help its the last little detail until I can kick this old beauty over.
also any help or comments greatly appreciated, constructive criticism I'll take as well lol.
thanks in advance!!!:spin:

you swallow yours Ned, you get them muddled with your prostate pills!

regards

Taffy

Hahaha holy ****, man am I new!!!!
thanks gents I almost forgot where my balls were.

side note: this is like the third best thing that's ever happened to me:p

So as far as I know only the latest 2 generations of Husabergs from '09 on have shim-adjusted valves in the head. What is the part you're missing? Got a pic? :) We'll figure it out.

well I think ned37 summed it up pretty well when a saying what the hell is a valve shim!!!

I just want to say thanks again for any input and comments, greatly needed as I'm such a dirty little virgin to these beast.

valve shims, I had a used head sent to me and the seller sent me three valve shims, without knowing any better I assumed I needed them to run my bike.
I think with the help of this forum the problem is fixed, but once I get home I can send you a pic, I'm rather impressed with myself for tearing thus motor completely down

I forget now, someone on eBay tho.
ebay seems to be the quickest and most reliable source for parts.
I'm just waiting for my piston and oil filters and I can put the top end back together. get a few rides in before the snow Flys and I have to stud my tires:)))))

you still haven't divulged what a valve shim is! describe it! the only valve shim on your model would maybe be under the valve spring, but prob not.

taffy, is the prostate pill the one i shove in my butt? i get confused.

If you're seriously asking, then for the record, valve shims are used on bikes that use valve shims to adjust the valve play :) Like the DR-Z and afaik the '09+ bikes. In other words for only a very short time in the sunset of Husaberg model history.

no no I know what it is and that I don't need any.
just was replying to tourist and his questions.
thanks guys

I mention again, you guys are the best much love all you people.
and ahh yeah about those suppository pills for the prostate cancer lol, smoke and drink more kids!!

Haha :) I was replying to Ned, although I didn't really think he needs any knowledge imparted from me :) Fun thread. Keep us posted on the bike.

well I've just ordered a cam chain from taffmeister and if all goes well in customs it should be in my hands by the end of September! !!!
so far to date the replacement parts are as follows.
used but in excellent condition cylinder
mind condition head,
brand new wosseler piston
new cam chain
used but decent shape radiator shrouds
and of course new spark plugs oil filters, coolant and motor oil:eek:
I paid 500 dollars Canadian for this bike and put in 850.00

just to remind you and anyone outside of the EU: if you buy off ebay, you pay our 'value added tax' or VAT. it is 20/120th.

so don't buy off ebay! if you go through our shop, the parts cost 100/120th of what you see on ebay but the computer only knows where you are from when you go to check-out or as we say: 'pay'. don't expect the computer to know where you're from till you say so!

regards

Taffy
