Valve seats on FE600

Hi people, I was wondering if anyone knows if the intake valve seats on a 99 FE600 are supposed to be cut in a three angle concave shape. The ones on mine seem to be the reverse of a regular three angle grind. Everything is smooth and the valves and seats look like new. I have never seen this before.
I have the bike apart to fix the sprag which looks like it has to be replaced. It is ground pretty good.

Thanks for any info

Chris

Not sure what you are asking. The intake valve seat is concave ie. cup shaped. The exhaust is normal.
I will try to get a pic and have to learn how to post it.

that means that they're pheqed Chris dunnit? 8O

you can still buy seats. I would have a look at new guides while you're there and to save you a lot of hassle they no longer make pre-2000 guides. but the holes in the head will only accept up to '99 or the 2004+ due to the diameter of the holes going from large to small and then back to large. so get some 2004+ guides and if you do i'll let you know how 'proud' they sit.

If you want the job carried out then my local engineers in Soham are very good at THAT job. 01353 720531 ext 3 ext 1 and ask for Trevor.

Thanks for the reply Taffy. The strange thing is, the seats and valves look absolutely new. The guides are in the same shape. One can hardly wiggle the valve in the guide. We've (Dad and I)built many engines so we are not new to this.
I picked the Berg for a project as it was different.
Also the sprague is knackered. Do you have a spare?

Damn! I seem to have misplaced my camera with the images on it.

not for an old 600 no. they aren't cheap at 102gbp. I have tried to cross reference them but no joy.
