upgrading your 1989-2003 clutch

I've had a few customers test the later clutch in the earlier models which allows easy neutral finding as the main if not sole benefit of doing it.

I'm going to sell the kit for £175gbp/ $275 and $275 AUS /Euro 220

the kit contains
the drum
12 steel tubes
new circlip
8 steels
various shims to pack out the drum correctly
a shim to put on the clutch pushrod

I guess most will only do this when the clutch drum is shagged and or all the plates as well!

your original springs and caps are still good and the clutch has thicker steels in the centre than standard so i expect it'll outlast the owner!

as I'm a busy, busy bee I'll get it on ebay as soon as I can.

I didnt see them on there, its been six hours or so, whats up taff?

when you say easy finding neutral does that mean stopped? or the means usually used to find neutral when rolling work a little easier? how long have you been testing for? if they work good i want one!!! (eventually) :D

Dont hurry on my account, i said eventually...... :D i wont really start poking you with a stick for at least a few months from now if there not up yet, ill just make a mental note and add it to the list of bits n bobs ive already got started.

Your UHE post says 1989-2003, but ebay listing is 1997-2003. is there something about a 1989-1996 that's different? Or is it an ebay typo?

I can assure you the computer is never wrong. it is human error!

1989-2002 it was the same clutch inner hub (drum) but I'm only really sure from about 1997 onwards when it comes to putting my neck on the line!

Hopefully "anytime" doesn't apply when you're climbing a steep ******* of a hill and you stab for 1st from 2nd!

 good one log i should have thought of that! mine now does that at times, sometimes first shift from cold other times when i least expect it.....as long as it doesnt do it any more than that great! if it does it less even better!

here is a photo of the kit. really sorry about the poor quality on this occasion....

Perhaps stupid question, but!
Does this mean that you can use a newer Rekluse?

So you fitted the 2004-2008 Z start pro to your -02?
What kind of modifications did you have to do to be able to fit it ?
In my case its a 2003 FC550 that i would love to fit a rekluse to.

it will fit it is just that they haven't checked back so they aren't sure.

are you the bloke who keeps asking me on ebay?

Thanx!
Not ebay, i contacted you on your website, sorry about that.
Seems hard to find someone that has fitted a rekluse to a 2003
Fc550. Dont want to waste good money on something i cant fit.
But if you say it will fit, i will order and give it a try!
Hate to sell the bike and get a newer one just to be able to fit a
rekluse but i am considering that as well.

your wasting your time fitting a rekluse to a knackered clutch drum. A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME!

and if you change the drum you are only a set of steels, 12 tubes and a few bits away from the 04 kit.

the thing that pisses me off is that the upgrade to the 2003 clutch is for sale and you still want to fit the rekluse back to the old bits?

do you want 6v and positive earth while you're there? :D :D
